Summary Provide potential customers with facility related information via outside calls, education, and follow up.Available for initial screening assessments of potential residents. This should result in meeting or exceeding budgeted census for the facility by increasing inquiries or referral base. To grow a new base of business while retaining existing business. To look for niche opportunities in the community of your facility’s location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for knowing bed availability at all times.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency regarding census and management.
- Makes sales calls outside of facility to medical, insurance, legal/financial professionals, senior organizations, hospital staff and other community contacts.
- In conjunction with Administrator, train and coordinate appropriate in-house staff to serve as main source and back-up for tour and admissions.
- Monitor referrals, admissions, and census trends.
- Interviews resident or representative to obtain and record name, address, age, persons to notify in case of emergency, attending Physician, and individual or insurance company responsible for payment of bill.
- Works with Business Office Manager to obtain insurance authorizations.
- Explains facility regulations such as visiting hours, payment of accounts, and schedule of charges.
- Escort resident or arranges for escort to assigned room.
- Obtains signed statement from resident to protect facility's interests.
- Responsible for weekly and monthly census and marketing reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Previous healthcare experience preferred.
- Computer skills at a level commensurate with position.
- Must be self-motivated and goal oriented.
- Must communicate effectively both orally and in a written format.
- Knowledge of (or ability to learn) reimbursement programs from vendor source.
Education and/or Experience
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
