Job Description
Position: Administrator, SAP Basis Location: Getzville, NY or Ballantyne, NC Position Overview: As part of SAP Basis and Security team, the SAP Basis Administrator provides technical support with global SAP Functional, ABAP, and IT Infrastructure teams. They troubleshoot, research, and resolve SAP issues, including server, third-party solutions, operating system, and database issues. They support security activities across SAP and non-SAP systems such as Active Directory and other third-party applications Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide day-to-day system support for BAU ECC 6.0, NetWeaver 7.5, SOLMAN 7.2 systems running on Oracle 19c/11g and HPUX 11.31
- Assist Security team with analyzing authorization issues and participate in maintaining SAP roles and users.
- Work with internal users on SAP tickets in our Basis queue.
- Perform system monitoring, transport management, spool and printer administration
- SAP Buffer, memory management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Perform database administration activities like restore & recovery, database growth management, performance tuning, database reorgs, and Oracle patch upgrades
- Participate in installing and upgrading support packs and enhancement packs both on ABAP and Java stacks using SUM, JSPM, SWPM, SPAM/SAINT, Kernel upgrades
- Keep SAP system secure by applying SAP Security notes
- Configures EarlyWatch Alerts and Technical monitoring in Solution Manager
- Creates and maintains RFC connections, background jobs, logon groups, partner profiles, SAP licenses, developer and access keys, OSS IDs, profile parameters, and SAP directories and interfaces.
- Implement and support third party applications with SAP, including OpenText, Vertex, PowerBI, Data Protector, AEB solutions, InvoiceWare, SOVOS and Process Weaver
- Support SAP implementation team with technical tasks and resolve issues related to third-party application interfaces, performance, data loads, go-live and post go-live activities
- SAP GUI deployment and patching
- Manage SAP system Dev and QA refreshes and client copy processes
- Participate in annual system and database audits and work with external/internal auditors to ensure compliance of systems
- Assist Security administrator with new user and role development, CUA, SOD issues
- Analyze and troubleshoot access issues using SU53 and running trace
- Develop and maintain SAP application system documentation.
- Participate in annual DR rehearsals
- Able to work independently, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with prior SAP S/4 HANA implementation involving Data migration/conversion, preferred
- SAP HANA migration using conventional method and using SUM/DMO, SWPM, experience preferred
- SAP HANA Database administration, upgrade, and patches along with DB replication, HA/DR, experience preferred
- Experience in SAP Business Suite on HANA, S/4 HANA, Fiori, UI5, Gateway technologies, Cloud, preferred
- Experience supporting roles and authorization on SAP S/4 HANA, preferred
- Strong Linux skill such as SUSE or SLES, experience preferred
- Deep knowledge of various aspects of SAP Security, both from a technical as well as business process perspective.
- Resolve incidents affecting the operation or availability of production systems, through troubleshooting and implementing known fixes, including working with application vendors.
- Perform installation and upgrades of SAP solutions and participate in new implementations and rollouts of new business sites
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years to Basis Administration experience in installation, upgrades, and supporting ECC, NetWeaver, Solution Manager running on Oracle and Unix/Linux environment
- 1+ years of Security Administration experience in SAP roles and authorizations
- Ability to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed
