The Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation (MCB) was founded in 1968 with the mission of furthering junior tennis worldwide. Established on the principles of developing good sportsmanship and strong character as well as empowering boys and girls to compete on an elite level, MCB fulfills this mission today by organizing approximately 10-15 tennis tournaments annually for thousands of aspiring and gifted athletes (ages 8-12) worldwide. Our Foundation office is located near Love Field Airport in Dallas, Texas.
MCB is seeking a full-time position to assist with its tournament and administrative operations in the office during the tournament year while offering a hands-on experience in sports management and an opportunity to build lifelong career experience in the tennis industry.
Responsibilities include:
- Handling customer service issues/inquiries via phone, social media, and email
- Assisting with tournament preparation and event logistics
- Maintaining office operations and an organized work environment
- Compiling event budgets
- Helping with post-event reports among other administrative tasks
- Some manual labor will be needed for this position (lifting boxes, carrying supplies, etc.)
- Occasional travel to the tournaments might also be needed to help with management efforts on site
Our ideal candidate would have:
- Minimum 2 years of college preferred
- A “people-oriented” spirit with an enthusiastic and positive personality
- Outstanding verbal and written skills with an attention to detail
- A natural self-starter attitude with a strong work ethic and capable of working at a high level in a small office work environment
- A high level of joy, empathy, and patience while working with young children and their parents and coaches
- A passion for tennis or sports management
- The willingness and energy to work weekends with long hours when at the occasional tournaments
- A good working knowledge of the following programs and platforms: database management (Constant Contact and Salesforce); WordPress; social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok); and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Compensation - $38,000 with healthcare benefits and an annual increase based on performance.
Schedule - This job will require an 8-hour workday (9am-5pm) from Monday-Friday at the MCB home office located near Love Field Airport in Dallas, Texas. Occasional weekday/weekend travel to work at MCB events, which would result in longer hours as needed.
