This is an Administrative Specialist I position assigned to the Customer Interaction Center and Quality Assurance (CICQA) Division located in Raleigh Headquarters. This position performs clerical data entry, document scanning, and administrative support for multiple assigned tax schedules for distribution agency wide. The position is required to review, validate and enter standardized documentation in our tax management system within 24 hours acknowledging receipt and acceptance of powers of attorney. In addition, this position supports the Customer Service agents of the Contact Centers by reissuing corrected or replacement Forms 1099 G and INT, and for demographic inquiries and updates, such as address changes and out of business notifications.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / CompetenciesThe Knowledge, Skills and Abilities listed below, along with the Minimum Education and Experience requirements, are REQUIRED to qualify for this position. - Ability to accurately enter data for 125 pieces of daily correspondence
- Ability to use resources to solve problems, obtain facts and related data
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form
- Ability to review and process information with a high degree of accuracy using good judgment
- Ability to operate word processing terminals, inquiry terminals, personal computers, scanning, indexing, duplicating and facsimile equipment
- Ability to apply departmental procedures for the distribution of work and deadlines
- Ability to work under stress to meet established time frames and goals
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Management Preferences:
- Experience in inspecting documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience using Windows Operating Systems, Excel, Word, & Outlook
- Considerable knowledge of office management practices, techniques, and technology
- Processing incoming/outgoing correspondence/mail
