- Serves as administrative support for the administrative Captain and the DHO officer.
- The DHO recorder will assist with the preparation of letter, memorandums, disciplinary reports and other documents for the Major, administrative Captain, and DHO.
- Maintains files pertinent to the inmate disciplinary hearings.
- Ensures that Major disciplinary hearing are entered within allotted time.
- Ensure scheduling and preparation of appropriate paperwork for DHO.
- Process incoming mail, reports, and correspondence.
- Request and maintain supplies.
- This position will also act as the back up for administrative assistant to the Warden as needed.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A High School diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma.
Two (2) years of clerical experience;
- A Degree may be substituted for the work experience.
