$19.246/hour hiring rate PLUS $3.00/hour facility differential for hours worked.

Examples of Work

The position is responsible for preparing and editing reports for the Warden and other OCC Executive Staff; coordinating, researching and preparing responses to both internal and external matters to include inmate correspondence and grievances; coordinating facility programs, program space and facilitators; coordinating volunteer services; serve as a backup to the Programs Officer II and Programs Officer I in their absence; represent the facility at agency meetings; analyze data to identify trends in areas of safety and security; complete special projects for the Warden and other OCC Executive Staff.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree in public or business administration, accounting, or any discipline related to the work assigned. One year of experience in administrative, business management or technical support work including collecting and interpreting statistical, financial, program, or administrative data; or interpreting laws, rules, regulations, and processes. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

PREFERRED: At least one year of Corrections experience working with evidence based practices. Experience coordinating volunteer programs to include scheduling, managing waiting lists and conducting facilitator training. Experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations and processes or in reviewing and evaluating administrative records and reports. Experience supervising staff; public speaking. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe software.

OTHER: Applicants accepting a job offer must pass a pre-employment medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the full paid NDCS Training Program to include CPR, first aid and self-defense tactics.

Ability to: communicate in person, by telephone, computer, email, and correspondence to exchange information and ideas and to promote agency needs, plans, and objectives. Interpret program administrative requirements, policies, regulations, and other guidelines. Interact with immediate supervisor and managers/employees of DCS, other governmental and organization representatives, and the public, to gain their cooperation and establish work relationships. Interpret and apply directives and instructions pertinent to assigned work. Learn the goals, policies, and operations of the agency related to assigned work.
