About the Opportunity:


The Bouvé College of Health Sciences seeks an Administrative Coordinator to join their team in the Department of Health Sciences.

Bouvé College of Health Sciences is comprised of four preeminent schools of study encompassing approximately 1,000 faculty and staff, 5,000 students, and 40,000 alumni.

Please note: The primary work location for this position is the Boston, MA Northeastern University Campus Location. Until our full return to campus, which is still to-be-determined, this interview process will be conducted remotely- including virtual interviews, remote onboarding and primarily remote work. The remote nature of this position is subject to change in the future and is only temporary. Local, on-campus work will be required once the College and this role return to an operational status that supports it.

Responsibilities:


The Department of Health Sciences seeks an Administrative Coordinator with a high degree of self-motivation to work independently and as part of a team to support the administration of the Department. The person who fills this position must be highly organized and detail-oriented. The Administrative Coordinator will report to the Chairperson of the Department of Health Sciences. This person provides high-level functions and support duties to the chair/associate chair, faculty, students and staff by implementing administrative systems, procedures, and policies; managing administrative projects; and coordinating and maintaining all departmental logistics. Specifically, the Administrative Coordinator will implement and maintain all administrative and procedural systems in the Department. Additionally, s/he will be the liaison with Bouvé College of Health Sciences in order to respond to university's processes, policies, logistics and requests. Some of the activities the Administrative Coordinator will carry out on a regular basis include: human resources and personnel (for all departmental constituencies including full/part-time faculty, affiliate faculty, visitors, students and staff); academic support (book adoptions and library, teaching support logistics); departmental systems and procedures (maintaining and updating Sharepoint and Canvas); space and facilities (managing furniture, computers and phones); and scheduling and logistics (managing various requests for meetings and events). External relations will be supported by maintaining and improving the departmental website. The Administrative Coordinator will meet regularly with the Chairperson to set priorities and goals in order to ensure smooth, efficient and timely fulfillment of duties and responsibilities.


Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree required. Two-to-five years of administrative experience, preferably in the academic setting, required. Mature, experienced professional, capable of independently leading the administrative and management support activities of the Department in an effective and timely manner. This position requires proactive and effective communication with the Department's leadership (chair, associate chair and program directors), faculty, students and staff. It involves handling confidential information.
