Locally owned Thornton retailer is seeking a combined payroll administrator and administrative assistant full-time position. The candidate will report to the two-person ownership team and be primarily responsible to administer payroll, benefits, employee onboarding and recordkeeping, human resources policies, procedures and employee support for 120 employees. Secondarily the candidate will assist with other corporate administrative duties and support the ownership team. Preferred candidate will be organized and detail oriented with accuracy and skills in excel, word, an ability to interface with 3rd party payroll software, an understanding of human resources and employment benefits, and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Gather information on hours worked and use payroll software with accuracy and efficiency. Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc.
- Process employee benefits, employee onboarding and recordkeeping, human resources policies and procedures
- Keep track of hour rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.
- Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors
- Prepare reports for upper management
- Support 120 employees across 2 locations
Skills
- Proven experience as payroll specialist
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
- Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field
- Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Paycheck) and databases
- Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
- Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; BS/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plus

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
