Job Description

Hampton House Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a part-time Activities Aide! Come join our amazing team!

The Activities Aide provides therapeutic activities to residents that are designed to meet the interests and to improve the physical, mental, and psycho-social well-being of each resident according to the comprehensive resident assessment and plan of care.

Job Duties


  • Carries out individual and group activities that meet the functional levels, needs, and interests of each resident. Follows the planned calendar of recreation opportunities.
  • Provides activities to residents regarding individual interventions that reflect life-long interests and that are adapted to the individual's functional abilities and level of participation. Assists residents with these activities as needed.
  • Gathers data from assigned residents to complete and update activities assessments and plans of care. Actively prepares for and participates in the plan of care meetings.
  • Completes documentation for assigned elders with quality insight, accurate information, and in a timely manner.
  • Seeks and identifies ways to support resident's individual needs and preferences, customary routines, concerns and choices. Communicates this information to immediate supervisor and other caregivers as appropriate.
  • Adapts activities to match the cognitive and physical functional levels of the residents through the use of task segmentation, verbal prompts, set-up assistance, physical assists, and demonstrations.
  • Assists residents getting to and from activities.

Job Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field preferred or completion of Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals Part I.
  • [Employee without a Bachelor's degree] Certification as an Activity Assistant or Activity Director Certified from the National Certification Council of Activity Professionals
  • 1 year experience in a health care setting providing therapeutic activities to individuals.
