Job Description

This position is responsible for researching and resolving claim related issues in order to receive maximum profitability for clients.

Responsibilities:

Reviews hospital claims to make sure that payer specific billing requirements are met, follows-up on billing, determines next steps.

Research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections.

Knowledge of account resolution of denials by payer through reconsideration or appeal processes;

Contact insurance companies to resolve partially paid or denied claims;

Update and note actions towards resolution for claims recovery.


Requirements:

  • Years of experience: Minimum of 2 yrs working underpayments/denials, or prior experience as a Healthcare Insurance Collector, Patient Account Representative or related experience.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Physical requirements: N/A

Skills:

Knowledge of HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems.

Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections.

Understands medical coding and terminology.
