The Accounts Receivable Specialist investigates delinquent accounts, prepares collection letters and customer statements, calls customers and prepares standardized reports on credit/collection status. The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for daily customer payment application and A/R account reconciliations. Operates under general supervision following specific procedural guidelines and policy.
This position will be based out of the Cranberry Township, PA or Colorado Springs, CO office. Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Responsibilities Include:
- Receipt Posting and Payment Processing
- Applies customer payments to accounts on a daily basis
- Maintains relationship with bank representative regarding issues that arise with deposits, wire activity, etc.
- Daily Credit Card and ACH reconciliations
- Collections / AR Functions
- Maintain standard collection process on overdue accounts
- Documentation of communication with past due accounts.
- Leads customer follow-up and support, including preparation of customer statements and collection letters
- Leads internal and external communication and issue resolution
- Manages to predetermined collection performance measures
- Follow up with customer on updates to their account (Phone/Email)
- Communicating any customer disputes with other internal team members
- Account Reconciliations/Month-End Tasks
- Completes month-end bank reconciliations for A/R
- Assists finance team in other month-end & accounting tasks as necessary
- Reporting
- Prepares monthly A/R Aging & Collections summary in Microsoft Excel for various department management
- Other ad hoc reporting as assigned
