Job Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk
Department: Accounts Receivable
Reports To: Accounts Receivable Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary
The Accounts Receivable Clerk records charges and payments to client accounts and maintains accounts receivable records. This Clerk also regularly meets with clients to review insurance coverage and other financial information.
A/R Services:
? Posts client charges and payments on a daily basis for all departments.
? Answers account receivable inquiries.
? Prints and processes monthly client statements.
? Submits/resubmits HCFAs to third-party payer sources.
? Conducts financial interviews with clients.
? Verifies client insurance and other payer benefits; communicates such to clients.
? Makes inquires into the status of third party claims
? Compiles, records, files & scans A/R charts, reports, and correspondence
? Uses the Nebraska Medicaid Electronic System (NMES) line to check client coverage on a daily basis.
? Archives all closed client files
? Runs daily schedules and verifies third party coverage
? Calls and/or mails correspondence to customers as necessary in order to update accounts.
? Routinely processes credit card payments
Other:
? Assists with related special projects, as required.
? Must comply with Agency policies and procedures, including those regarding conduct, confidentiality, and record keeping.
? Provides back-up coverage for other Accounts Receivable, Records, and Front Desk staff members.
? Purchases agency goods, as needed.
Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be a Nebraska licensed driver with an insurable driving/safety record.

? Ability to operate Accounting software, Microsoft Word and Excel programs in an efficient manner.
? Ability to type, file, photocopy, collate, shred, organize, and scan files.
? Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch.
? Ability to clearly discuss insurance and financial information with all current and potential clients.
? Have the ability to use (or successfully learn to use) a switchboard phone system.
? Must be at least 21 years of age.
? Ability to pass and maintain extensive background check required by the agency.
? Willing to obtain a flu shot annually (except for those allergic to the vaccine or who have a religious exception) or must wear a mask when agency deems appropriate due to times of high illness.
? If in substance abuse recovery, a minimum of two years continuous sobriety/“clean time” is required and maintained throughout employment.
? Attention to detail is essential.
