About the Position:
We are looking for a highly motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to assist our Accounting team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will provide support and coordination of the day-to-day accounting functions.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with team members in Accounting
- Data entry of vendor invoices, invoice posting, and check preparation
- Daily review of AP Unapproved Invoice entry
- Review matching of invoice details to purchase order and work with purchasing or project managers to resolve issues
- Process expense claims including utilizing 3rd party expense management software
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Maintain a positive working relationship with vendor's/supplier's accounting staff
- Review invoice coding for accuracy, proper approvals, and reasonableness
- Willing to learn Colorado and Wyoming sales and use tax rules for manufacturing
- Review Accounts Payable e-mail account to ensure invoices are promptly routed for processing and vendor questions are answered in a timely manner
- Promptly return all phone calls in a polite and professional manner
- Competency in common office software including Microsoft Office products, PDF manipulation, scanning, etc.
- Ability to understand the full cycle of AP at the company and willingness to perform any part of it.
- Lead or support annual 1099 reporting and auditing
- Receives direct supervision.
- Performs administrative or technical responsibilities.
- Objectives based on established guidelines, processes and operating procedures.
- Coordinates own tasks with a specific range of responsibilities in accomplishing well defined outcomes.
- Work is generally structured or recurring requiring high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Great Plains experience preferred but not required
- 2-5 years minimum experience
- Prior experience with inventory required
