Hemming Morse’s Forensic Consulting practice is built on a foundation of highly experienced experts on a spectrum of business-critical topics, including accounting, valuation, finance, statistics, and economics. Our analyses are skillfully presented in both the courtroom and the board room.
Responsibilities
- Manage firm payroll on a semi-monthly basis, including mid-cycle payment checks, as necessary.
- Accounts Payable
- Process employee expense payments
- Receiving, coding, and processing payments of all invoices
- Resolve invoice discrepancies
- 1099 preparation
- Preparation and distribution of daily cash sheets and bank deposits.
- Billing – Produces monthly bills for designated practice groups. Ensures bills are processed correctly within designated time periods.
- Case Management – Submit and process conflict checks; engagement letters and manage the case opening and closing process.
- Other special projects or tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong service skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of payroll tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Basic understanding of CA wage and hour law, as it applies to payroll.
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
- Experience in QuickBooks, Bigtime, and ADP Workforce Now preferred, but not required.
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of Payroll Specialist and A/P experience
Education:
- Completion of AA degree or certificate program, or a level of education that, together with experience and training, enables the applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge and experience.
- Undergraduate degree preferred.
