AP/AR / Payroll / Collections +

Reports to: CEO Hours: In-Office 8:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Location: Huntington Beach, CA
Compensation Range: DOE + Shared Commission +Benefits

We are seeking a trustworthy individual who can work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy. This position will work with large amounts of numerical data, handle several tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management.

The accountant will process accounts payable and receivable, reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy, and create financial transactions, including posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. The accountant will also be responsible for managing and maintaining all financial transactions, preparing, examining, and ensuring our organization’s financial records and financial data accuracy.

We will require a two-week paid trial period before hiring.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

GENERAL ACCOUNTING

  • Conduct reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy;
  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits;
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants;
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly sales tax returns;
  • Collect sales taxes from customers and remit them to the government;
  • Work in conjunction with the external accountant to produce reports for tax filings;
  • Maintain the chart of accounts;
  • Maintain the annual budget, calculate variances, and report issues to management;
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple cash accounts;
  • Maintain various files (bank statement, paid invoices, sales invoices, etc.);
  • Input journal entries as well as general ledger analysis;
  • Maintain, balance, and reconcile subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions;
  • Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit.

AP/AR

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensure receivables are collected promptly;
  • Pay supplier invoices promptly take all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices;
  • Pay any debt as it comes due for payment;
  • Input and track income and expenses.

SALES

  • Create sales invoices;
  • Create and submit purchase orders.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Help create project budgets;
  • Process rebates.

HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Process payroll promptly;
  • Process expense reimbursement requests;
  • Maintain benefits records for employees, including sick days, vacation time and health insurance, etc.;

OPERATIONS

  • Maintain up to date and accurate Accounting SOP’s;
  • Establish & review internal controls;
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents;
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions;
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested;
  • Assist Operations Manager and C-Level with other duties as assigned (data entry, filing, scanning, shredding, receiving and distributing mail, etc.);

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND:

  • Experience with QuickBooks - must have;
  • Passion for sustainability - must have;
  • Experience with rebates and construction - must have;
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint (Microsoft Office);
  • Proficient with Google Suite (Docs, Drive, Sheets, Gmail, etc.);
  • Knowledgeable in SFAS Rules;
  • Experience with ERP;
  • Experience with accounting software and data entry.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred;
  • Associates degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience, as well as a knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles;
  • 3+ years of experience.

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
