Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for management and oversight of the General Ledger, including Cash Management, Investments, Receivables, Payables, Revenue, Expenses and other GL areas. Provides support to the Senior Director of Management and Financial Reporting for Budgeting, Reporting, External Audits, Rating Agencies and other cost and management analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage the assigned staff to ensure the following functions (as assigned) are completed within required (expected) guidelines or performance levels:
- Tax and other regulatory reporting required as part of the functions assigned
- Compliance reporting with financial institutions
- Investments and Cash Management
- Review and management of the monthly close cycle
- Review of all account reconciliations
- Preparation of the multi-company consolidated cash flow
- Audit schedules and annual report preparation in accordance with GAAP
- Financial analysis and reconciliations for assigned functions
- Supervision of staff, including:
- Hiring and training team members
- Coordination of job accountabilities and workloads
- Preparation of annual team performance evaluations, including recommendation of promotions and salary increases, and recommendation of any possible disciplinary actions that may be needed
- Preparation of annual staff incentive plans for each team member, and monitoring/reporting of staff members' status on meeting their incented goals
- Manage the unit to ensure the following functions are completed within required guidelines and performance levels:
- Monthly journal entries
- Monthly account reconciliations
- Perform testing of financial systems and related activity when necessary
- Handle daily service issues, questions and problems related to the assigned functions within the Accounting department.

REQUIRED, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with Financial/Accounting related data.
- Must possess the ability to effecively organize and prioritize workloads, while managing time accordingly.
- A minimum of 5 years recent experience working with a computerized accounting software system; strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access) skills, intermediate to advanced level ability with Excel.
- Prior experience with Oracle Financials system or similar ERP is preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor (4 year) Accounting Degree
- Minimum 6 years' experience General Accounting/Finance
- Minimum 2 years' experience with General Ledger
- Minimum 2 years' experience with GAAP FInancial reporting
- Experience working with external auditors
- CPA (Active/Inactive) is strongly preferred
- Cash Management/Banking experience is preferred
- Health Care Industry experience is preferred
