Award-winning home builder in search of a full-time Accounting Manager to join our team. Interested candidates should have an Accounting Degree with a minimum of 10 years accrual accounting experience and are very comfortable with managing multiple companies/entities. Responsibilities of Accounting Manager
- Manages all day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, AR, AP, and GL, transactional accounting, as well as job cost accounting, revenue recognition and reporting, and cashflow forecasting.
- Manages all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes and the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements to ensure compliance with US GAAP and Company policies.
- Communicates and explains accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the executive team.
- Track jobs-in-progress.
- Drafts and edits general business correspondence.
- Ability to manage multiple entities.
- Strives for continual improvement in accounting and transactional processes while developing and implementing policies to streamline accounting procedures.
- Manages payroll and is responsible for maintaining all HR records and accounts.
- Completes on-boarding of new employees.
- Performs credit card transactions and reconcile credit card activity.
- Transfers Funds to/from banks (either personally or via other means).
- Inputs invoices weekly and reconciles revenue as part of month end close.
- Works with our subcontractors and vendors to maintain good account standing.
- Cash management responsibility including deposits, bank reconciliations, managing disbursements, and assisting in collections.
- Responsible for tracking of construction loans and managing the preparation and submittal of construction loan draws with the banks.
- Monitors and analyzes financial accounting data.
- Work with Finance Manger to ensure a clean and timely year end audits.
- Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Develops, implements, monitors, and manages systems for general accounting.
- Reviews and analyzes the company's accounting operations.
- Develops and documents business processes to strengthen internal controls.
- Ability to solve complex issues and provide insightful and constructive feedback.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements of Accounting Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA license is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of accrual accounting experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), standards and regulations.
- Superior data management and data analysis skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets using advanced Excel skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles & processes.
- Must be very organized with great attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong Problem-solving skills with experience in process improvement.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Self-directed and motivated.
- Must work well with others and function in a team environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Construction industry experience is a plus.
- ComputerEase software experience is a plus.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must have great references and work history.
Physical Demand/Work Environment
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Work Hours
This is a full-time position; business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Occasional travel throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
