Who are we looking for?
The Corporate Accounting Team is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual to join us as an Accounting Intern. Someone eager to learn and have the courage to ask questions is a must. A strong understanding of debits/credits and general accounting principles is also required.

The Moving4Ward Internship Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous networking opportunities. The internship position is meant to provide projects focusing on ways to propel Orthofix forward, while also advancing the student’s career. Successful candidates for this internship position will gain valuable experience in the medical device industry, which could shape career decisions and create future employment opportunities
Successful candidates will assist the Corporate Accounting team in planning, organizing, and conducting monthly and quarterly close activities. In this role, you will be exposed to multiple areas of the Corporate Accounting function, including GL accounting, Consolidations, Financial Reporting, Tax, and Treasury. You will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned at school to real-world situations, network with business professionals, build self-confidence, skills, and a mindset to help you succeed in your professional career.
What will the duties and responsibilities be?
Assist in the following areas under direct supervision:
Research and resolve account discrepancies
Participate in the monthly and quarterly closing processes
Prepare journal entries - month-end accruals/reversals, amortization and reclassifications
Interface with management in various departments including IT, Operations, Tax, Treasury and FP&A
Assist in the preparation of monthly account reconciliations, under the supervision of Staff-Senior Accountant
Liaise with internal and external auditors and assist in compiling audit requests
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Student Eligibility:
What qualifications are required to be eligible for this opportunity?
Be currently enrolled at an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate student with a Major in Accounting
Cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
Effective time management skills and detail oriented
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office products – Excel (vlookups, pivots) and Word
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
Have the legal right to work in the US
