James Moore & Co., P.L. is a growing, forward thinking public accounting firm searching for a full-timeAccounting & Client Service Manager in our Accounting Controllership Services Department.

Responsibilities and Duties

This position will be a hands-on driver of client relationships to ensure proper accounting treatment, execution of accounting functions and reporting of results. This position is responsible for supervising a team of accountants tasked with maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Top candidates will thrive in a fast paced and deadline driven department, overseeing a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation.

Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will have 10+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in addition to their Bachelor's degree. A Master's Degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who has a desire to help his or her team grow in their accounting knowledge. Additional qualifications and requirements include:

  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Extensive experience in bookkeeping & payroll
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple accounting software systems, preferably Microsoft Office (Excel), QuickBooks, Intacct, Sage, and MIP
  • Ability to perform office and bookkeeping duties accurately and efficiently without supervision
  • Attention to detail with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Self-driven, demonstrates initiative and able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to positively and proactively manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and thrive in fast-pace, dynamic environment
  • Proven leadership and adaptability
  • Ability to actively manage and supervise a team of 4-6 accounting professionals
  • Agreeable and willingness to accept inconveniences and go above and beyond
  • Effectively defines and prioritizes short/long term goals and objectives
  • Promotes teamwork and a cooperative work environment
