Job Purpose
We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to support a manufacturing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be primarily responsible for providing administrative support for Accounts Receivables, month-end close reporting, reconciliations, and other Accounting and Credit functions. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, engaging team in the outdoor industry. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Post all incoming Accounts Receivable deposits for domestic and international operations.
- Review and post manual A/R transactions, including credit memos, debit memos, warranty requests, and other account reconciliation adjustments.
- Review and track customer overpayments and refunds with Credit department.
- Assist in month end close by scheduling reports, completing A/R reconciliations, preparing other Accounting & Credit reports, and responding to ad hoc requests and inquiries.
- Prepare recurring bank reporting, including incoming deposit and bank transaction detail spreadsheets and outstanding check listings.
- Provide administrative assistance to accounts payable, including reviewing accuracy of employee expense reimbursements, vendor statements, and assisting with other organizational and vendor improvement projects.
- Assist with internal and external audits by compiling and reviewing reporting requests.
- Manage incoming & outgoing departmental mail and provide administrative assistance, including filing and organization.
- Participate in team meetings and support Accounting and Credit process improvement projects.
- Provide backup and support for other Accounting & Credit responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of Accounting experience or equivalent administrative experience.
- Must be detailed oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills.
- Previous Blue Cherry and Microsoft AX experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field is a plus, but not required.
