Who We Are Looking For
The Accountant's role will be supporting the daily functions of the accounting department and collaborating with the team to complete the month-end financials. This is a high volume and fast-paced position that needs equally high attention to detail. The position reports to the Accounting Manager. You will collaborate closely with others in the accounting department to complete monthly tasks.
Organization and attention to detail are necessary skills in this role. You should possess a strong ability to understand and calculate numbers and figures. You should also have a knack for analytical thinking and sharp attention to detail.
Your goal will be to ensure and assist in smooth operations of the accounting department which will, in turn, help the employees and the company at large.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Enter assigned journal entries and prepare the corresponding backup.
- Review balance sheet accounts for accuracy by performing monthly account reconciliations and ensuring books are closed by the 5th of every month
- Assist with documentation of standard operating procedures and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Oversee accounts payable, this includes uploading invoices into Bills.com, maintaining vendor account information, and verifying invoices for payment.
- Perform bank account reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with collecting vendor W9's and participate in the expense reporting process.
- Prepare month-end reports for the Accounting Manager to review.
- Work closely with team members to complete the month-end close.
- Perform special projects as assigned and be prepared to assist other team members during tight deadlines.
- Assisting with semi-monthly payroll processing was needed to maximize efficiencies.
- Proven ability to organize, manage, and maintain accounts receivable, payroll processes, & invoices.
- Knowledge of proper accounting practices.
- Familiarity with accounting software.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.

- BS /BA in accounting or related field
- 2 - 5 years of professional work experience in accounting with experience in payroll

This position also works in conjunction with the school counselor and faculty in enhancing wellness programs for the school community.The ideal candidate will possess prior experience working with children, values community relations and outreach and is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
