Our products and services are used in over 60 countries around the world. Gleason Corporation is looking for a Corporate Accountant to join our team.Job Responsibilities:
- Support Corporate Financial Reporting:
- Assist with quarterly financial consolidation process, including consolidation general ledger account postings.
- Maintenance of general ledger and reporting for small corporate subsidiaries.
- Assistance with preparing quarterly internal and external reporting deliverables and support of external audit requirements.
- Preparation of U.S. government census reporting.
- Maintain Fixed Asset Accounting (US GAAP and Tax) for U.S. business units and worldwide depreciation records for assets for US tax reporting.
- Support the Corporate Tax functions:
- Aid with the preparation of supporting work papers for federal and state corporate tax returns and quarterly estimates.
- Support quarterly and annual tax provision preparation.
- Assist with the preparation of foreign tax filings.
- Provide support with tax research.
- Support efforts surrounding tax audits and tax notices.
- Special projects and ad-hoc requests.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Good understanding of US GAAP including debit and credit accounting theory
- Ability to communicate and work well with all levels within the organization
- Self-motivated multitasker with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytic skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required;
- 0-2 years of experience in public or industry accounting (public accounting preferred)
- CPA or MBA is preferred, but not required
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Advanced level proficiency with Excel preferred
- SAP Finance/Accounting Modules or other ERP accounting experience
