The Accountant 1 position is an entry level accounting position and can be responsible for various job duties within the department. Typical duties include Balance Sheet preparation, Profit and Loss Statements, and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Position reports organizations finances to managements and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies and assumptions underlying budgets/forecasts. Position requires a basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the Accounting field. This position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and works under immediate supervision. The primary job function does not require exercising independent judgments.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Prepares asset and liability entries by compiling and analyzing account information- Documents financial transactions by entering account information
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options
- Summarizes current Balance Sheet status by collecting information, preparing formal reconciling reports and coordinating with other affiliate companies where appropriate
- Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Maintains financial security by following internal / J-Sox controls
- Prepares various analytical reports for financial reporting validation
- Recognizes accounting procedure issues and escalates or consults with Management
- Complies with Federal, State and local financial legal requirements based on instruction from management
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed / requested
- Performs other accounting duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS
This work is performed in a general Headquarters office environment. This position will interface with all functional areas throughout Global operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The incumbent must:
- 4 year degree in Accounting or Finance
Professional Certification (CPA,CMA) or Master’s Degree a plus
0 - 2 years of experience
Excellent interpersonal communication both written and oral.
Goal-oriented that mirrors companies progression/succession planning
Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
Ability to maintain confidentiality requirements

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office. Accounting, Corporate Finance, Reporting/Research Skills, Deadline Oriented, GAAP/IFRS, Time Management and General Math Skills.
