Job Description

The Account Manager's focus is to ensure MediSpend is the client's preferred partner of choice and will operate as the best advocate for accomplishing their goals with MediSpend's Global Compliance Suite of solutions.



As an Account Manager, you will serve as the overall client owner and are a key business development professional responsible for cultivating, managing, and expanding business within existing client accounts by selling new lines of business (cross-sells), expanding existing contracts (upsells) and meeting renewal objectives. You will do this by becoming viewed as a trusted partner and advisor for each of your assigned clients by strengthening and building new relationships, educating them on new product offerings and product enhancements, conducting quarterly business review sessions and maintaining subject-matter proficiency of all MediSpend offerings and associated value propositions.

A day in the life:

  • Manage and own the business relationship with assigned client accounts by maintaining a high level of client engagements while being viewed as a trusted advisor.
  • Expand new business within assigned client accounts by identifying new and closing new business within each account while leading account strategy, planning and overall client satisfaction.
  • Be a subject matter expert in MediSpend's product offerings and accurately represent these capabilities within and across customer stakeholder organizations, ranging from executives to end users.
  • Build meaningful and strong relationships with MediSpend's clients that result in long term and enterprise-wide partnerships.
  • Conduct quarterly business review sessions with key stakeholders.
  • Be accountable for sales/revenue growth for named accounts across all life science segments (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device).
  • Collaborate with MediSpend product lines, compliance advisory CoE and the executive team to drive customer value while advancing opportunities and closing new business.
  • Be an active voice of the client within the MediSpend organization to help drive enhancements of existing MediSpend products and the development of new solutions.
  • Lead proposal development, negotiation, commercial terms and contracting of all new sales opportunities and renewal activity.
  • Regularly monitor industry trends, market dynamics and incorporate into existing account strategy and plans in order to become viewed as a trusted partner and advisor for each key client engagement.
  • Accurately plan and forecast CARR (contracted annual recurring revenue) for each client to achieve quarterly and annual targets.
  • Utilize CRM to manage client engagements.
  • Identify renewal risk and collaborate with internal teams to remediate and ensure a successful renewal.

What you bring to the table:

  • 3-5+ years of direct sales, client and/or account management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, or related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Client/account management experience of at least 30+ clients at a time required.
  • Strong analytical skill set and ability to effectively use data for strategy
  • Experience in B2B, end user sales; Life sciences (Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Medical Device) preferred.
  • High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and self-motivation.
  • Previous experience with a SaaS solutions company and/or an enterprise software company highly desired.
  • Prior experience with a CRM system required.
  • Must be proficient in full Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to build strong and effective relationships globally with customer stakeholders including executives, functional business owners and subject matter experts.
