Job Description

MOTION SOLUTIONS SUMMARY:

Motion Solutions provides custom, application-specific engineered systems to OEMs and industrial customers in the medical, life sciences, semiconductor, robotics, and industrial automation sectors. We provide a complete selection of services, including electro-mechanical design, prototype and volume manufacturing, and engineering services. With over 60 years of industry experience, Motion Solutions is also a leading distributor of world-class linear motion and motion-control products.


POSITION SUMMARY: The Account Manager 2 (AM2) leverages our team’s engineering expertise to develop solutions that meet the customer’s requirements. They leverage their dynamic personality to understand customer challenges and propose those solutions in either quote or proposal format. The AM2 navigates this process in a consultative manner, exclusively through phone or e-mail communication. They are responsible for both inbound inquiries and maintaining relationships at our current customer base.

  • Ensures customers select Motion Solutions as their supplier
  • Leverages internal engineering resources to develop and propose appropriate solutions
  • Engages with customer on technical subject matter to gather information and understand customer challenges
  • Quotes - Responds to requests from customers for information
  • Regularly asks for and receives commitments
  • Contacts customers to follow-up on orders, quotes, and other pending issues
  • Level One Application Support on assigned products and technologies
  • Diligent and timely follow-up on orders, quotes and website inquiries
  • Manages customer needs and expectations and coordinates internal support to exceed both
  • Prospects as needed to develop additional opportunities in assigned accounts
  • Other projects as assigned

  • QUALIFICATIONS (KSA):
  • Must have technical aptitude, Engineering degree a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong initiative and sense of urgency
  • Results driven
  • Strong organization skills
  • Comfortable discussing money
  • Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a sales team and take on new tasks with varying levels of difficulty.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years’ experience in a sales support or engineering role or equivalent combination of related education and experience. Engineering or Mechatronics degree a plus. Factory automation experience is highly desired.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret project specifications, drawings, graphs, technical procedures, and catalog data. Ability to write reports, quality procedures, and work instructions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, engineers, customers, and our principals. Accomplished English speaking and writing.


MATH SKILLS

Ability to do basic math as well as understand basic engineering principals.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to assess a competitive situation and determine the best course of action to allow us to compete at that particular account.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:


Internal:

Interacts frequently with a variety of Motion Solutions personnel such as: President, Materials, Engineering, Inside Sales, Finance, and Outside Sales.


External:

Interfaces with all key customers and suppliers.
