Account Management Summer Internship

Duration: June 7 - August 20, 2021

Internship will be almost entirely remote, but intern may be required to attend meetings or events on site in St. Petersburg, FL

About the Account Management Team

The role of the Account Management team is to support all of our clients in achieving their strategic goals through each of our supported solutions and to be the owner of the overall partnership.

Our Team consists of six Regional Vice Presidents (RVP) who each have a team of Account Executives (AE) that directly work with our clients. The Account Executive is charged with strategy and growth. The number of clients an AE supports can depend on the overall size and complexity of the relationship.

Goals and Objectives

The purpose of this internship is to assist with building a program to increase client engagement. This will be achieved by finding opportunities with clients and PSCU cross-department executives. As well as finding opportunities for PSCU Account Executives to deepen with the client partners. The Client Engagement program will identify various ways to increase client engagement through standard methodologies, communication initiatives, and PSCU Industry involvement. The intern will become a subject matter expert in a Client Engagement program, demonstrate & influence those activities, and develop reports to supervise the program and processes. The goal of this engagement is to develop and streamline a Client Engagement program and its processes into trainable and trackable standard methodologies for the department. This improved program will result in increased client satisfaction, additional lines of businesses sold and in general an increased client engagement.

The main responsibility of the intern will be to drive the development & deployment of the Client Engagement program, it’s reporting & tracking as well as strategies for the program to continue to be effective over time.

This opportunity will provide exposure to an intern in the following areas:

The PSCU’s Summer Internship Program provides you – a junior or senior undergraduate student - with the chance to develop and hone your skills in business. We offer the opportunity to build for your future by learning firsthand the Financial and more specifically Credit Union industry through business acumen training, coupled with focused learning opportunities in a core functional specialty. You’ll also gain insight into our rich history, our outstanding culture, and our committed social conscience.

In this 10-week program, for the first week, you’ll engage in orientation and get a grounding in Credit Unions. For the remaining time, you’ll work in a specific core function in our St. Petersburg headquarters based on your interests and interview results. In addition to your daily work, you’ll be participating leadership development sessions and interacting with PSCU’s senior leadership teams.

PSCU Intern Program Entry Qualifications

  • Completion of sophomore or junior year in an accredited undergraduate degree program with a 3.0/4.0 GPA at time of application.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate thoughts, communicate, completely, and concisely.
  • Strong, organizational, and detail skills, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to pivot easily when directions and priorities change on short notice.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite® with a heavy emphasis on Excel.
  • Proficiency in software that applies to your major and function-specific internship.
  • Passion for learning the Credit Union Industry.
  • Must be able to commute to St. Petersburg when vital during the program.
  • Being friendly, hardworking, and upbeat, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service.

Account Management Internship Requirements

  • Adeptness to grasp broad concepts and build strategies to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to tell compelling stories through PowerPoint presentations and other Microsoft products
  • A base understanding and desire to learn about Client Relations and Business Development.
