Job Description
Position Summary: The Account Executive is a key and central leadership role in the development, coordination and implementation of strategies to support ongoing and expansion of MAG’s US Navy Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) business area. The Account Executive is responsible for interacting, creating and maintaining relationships with numerous customers within NIWC and all its subordinate agencies, to include NIWC Headquarters and various subordinate units as well as others contributing to NIWC procurement ecosystem. The Account Executive must be able to accurately and concisely convey MAG’s expertise in key capabilities areas including communications, engineering, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance services. The position interacts consistently with Corporate Business Development, as well as Company Business Unit leaders and their teams within MAG. The Account Executive reports to the MAG Aerospace Chief Growth Officer.
The Account Executive (AE) utilizes existing relationships with INDOPACOM customers to advance new opportunity pipeline development and bring “the voice of the customer” into opportunity strategies and contract execution. The MAG AE proactively creates, cultivates, and enhances relationships with current and potential new customers and key contacts within NIWC to help identify new business opportunities. This position will be responsible for developing the MAG Aerospace NIWC Pacific account plan identifying the most important requirements and opportunities to company leadership and preparing a compelling strategy for success in this market. The MAG AE is active from opportunity identification, qualification, competitive positioning, and strategy development through assistance on service delivery with the capabilities-based business unit to influence pursuit and overall account strategies. - Develop and maintain established NIWC customer relationships and be known among industry partners. The candidate will lead strategic account planning, prioritization, pipeline development.
- Establish and grow NIWC markets by strategically seeking out and creating opportunities and channels to market.
- Establish strategic objectives for all current and future capabilities of NIWC markets.
- Develop and deliver strategic plans for the BD organization, focused on growth and new capability activities.
- In collaboration with BD leadership, line management, and through capture and proposal development, influence win strategies for new business pursuits.
- Identify new services and adjacent market opportunities based on customer requirements
- Maintain a strong understanding of MAG service offerings and be able to represent their benefits, and functionality to customers.
- Work with business development and marketing in support of corporate trade shows and events.
- Analyze multiple types of financial and market data, determine, verify and validate rationale behind business pursuit of opportunities.
- Develop network of key partners to optimize win probabilities.
- Use and maintain accurate sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
- Support capability based business units in receivable collection and customer interaction
- Align relationships, channels to market, pipeline, win strategies and capability development with Annual Operating Plan (AOP)

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or subject matter relevant to customer’s mission required.
- Secret security clearance required. Top Secret/SCI eligible preferred.
- 15-20 or more years working with customer organizations; a combination of government experience and commercial business development experience is preferred.
- Credibility with external constituents, specifically with broad customer sets; the candidate should have a developed network of relevant contacts in these communities
- Proven experience developing business cases, account plans and strategies.
- Proven and current knowledge of customer environment and acquisition processes.
- Established current relationships and experience within assigned customer set.
- Experience developing and executing call plans. Current understanding of industry standard business development processes.
- Must possess the ability to work across organizational boundaries and jurisdictions, leading customer meetings and cross-discipline teams in development of customer solutions.
- 10 years’ experience developing opportunities from early concept / trend identification through qualification.
- Experience and proven successes in shaping opportunities to increase win probabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and highly effective interpersonal skills are required as well as an ability to inspire confidence and provide effective communication with senior managers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
- At least 10 years’ experience with U.S. Government contracting, acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors.
- Ability to engage, motivate and collaborate within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Team-building and influencing outcomes by motivating performance and establishing coalitions across a matrixed organized where many team members report to other managers is a critical skill requirement.
- Proven experience with Account ownership and oversight including participation and development of strategy, implementation, monitoring and reporting performance, briefing leadership, and meeting all account goals.
- This position will require travel.
