SMITH is seeking a highly talented Account Director to join our growing Client Services team. An integral part of SMITH’s senior leadership group, the Account Director of Client Services will oversee team members while motivating and leading project teams. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for a Client Group representing a portfolio of vertically focused accounts. In this role, you will manage and grow existing accounts—providing engagement leadership and developing senior-level client relationships—while adding new clients to SMITH’s roster. You will also take ownership of client satisfaction and the overall health and profitability of the Client Group.

- A prospector with a keen ability to qualify leads with advanced-level competency in the following: lead awareness and origination, lead nurturing, strong familiarity with sales process, strong focus on revenue and customer retention and expansion
- A relationship builder who can foster strong rapport with new and existing clients
- Have a strategic viewpoint relative to digital commerce; thinking about the what you can do to move your client’s business objectives forward
- Consistently think outside of plans to give your clients new and exciting ideas for campaigns that will hit business objectives and grow accounts organically
What You’ll Do
- Develop and deliver organic growth within the account
- Provide strategic direction for assigned clients within the business unit
- Achieve positive results through multi-modal interactive campaigns and programs
- Ensure all statements of work are documented, accurate, and implemented
- Foster relationships with other Account Directors and Account Managers across the company
- Mentor and coach team members while motivating and leading project teams
- Define and implement best practices at the business unit level
- Contribute to overall development of the Client Services department
What We Look For
- 5+ years of account management experience in digital marketing, ecommerce, or related disciplines
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
- Proven record of growing both client and agency businesses
- Competency in managing complex teams and client relationships; particular experience in business development highly desired
- Advanced negotiation, communication, analytical, and writing skillls
- Demonstrated experience in formulating and driving long-term strategic account plans and strategies
- A collaborative approach and the ability to partner closely with a cross-disciplinary team encompassing Strategy, Experience, Technology, and Delivery Management to ensure client projects are successfully delivered
- Ownership of senior-level client relationships and ability to contribute strategic value beyond day-to-day operations
- Demonstrated experience running regularly scheduled business development and account management meetings to discuss account health, opportunities, risks, etc.
- Strong communication skills, capable of accurately communicating progress of revenue to budget forecast to the team throughout the year
- Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring all statements of work are documented, accurate, and implemented
- Proven competency in managing complex teams and client relationships; particular experience in business development desired
- Background and experience in digital marketing
- Advanced negotiation, communication, and writing skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with capacity to motivate and mentor team members
- Highly organized and detail oriented
