Job Description

Bridge Diagnostics is looking a Laboratory Specimen Processor responsible for the pre-analytical process in the laboratory which includes specimen receiving, sorting, specimen bag opening, and lab support.


Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Specimen receiving, sorting and specimen bag opening.
  • Initial data entry of tests ordered into Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • Scan specimen label into LIS
  • Confirm that all practice and in-house accession numbers and specimen IDs are validated.
  • Demonstrates effective communication for specimen movement throughout the laboratory.
  • Able to maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
  • Complete daily housekeeping per company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage the waste produced by the pre-analytical processes as well as keep the lab free of debris and trash at all times.
  • Demonstrates understanding of HIPAA laws and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates understanding of company's safety practices. Demonstrates awareness of safety issues and demonstrates consistent work practices at all times.
  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with company policies, SOPs, regulatory standards and regulations and accrediting agencies, including the proper wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Remains aware of evolving needs and opportunities, showing flexibility in doing whatever is appropriate to support the Company's success.
  • High school diploma or GED minimum requirement.
  • Type accurately with good keyboard pace and the ability to interpret high volumes of information correctly.
  • Dependable, punctual.
  • Flexible to work varied hours due to business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management.
  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficient in MS office applications (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work in a repetitive environment at a fast pace.
  • Ability to work independently as well within a team environment.


Experience Level
:

  • Previous experience in a laboratory highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced production environment where the work is repetitive is highly desirable.


Shift Details
:

  • Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6:30pm
  • Hours & schedule may vary depending on company and business needs.
