Job Description Summary

The Academic Coordinator reports to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and provides support to the chair of the Department of Social Sciences and the graduate program directors of the Master of Science in Psychology and the Master of Arts in Creative Writing.

Job Description

Duties and Tasks:

  • Support chair and directors with creating faculty teaching schedules
  • Support chair and directors with managing faculty clearance process
  • Support chair and directors with managing budgets
  • Shepherd faculty expense reports process
  • Manage student and faculty phone calls, emails, and walk-ins
  • Manage department meeting and events invitations and setup
  • Manage ordering of supplies
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the dean, the department chair, or the graduate directors.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge:

  • High School Diploma
  • Previous experience working in an office environment

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint

Abilities:

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable working and interacting with large numbers of people on a daily basis
