Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Social Media Marketing Intern will help generate brand awareness, grow existing brand loyalty and attract new audiences. This role will work closely with our Social Media teams to help plan, create and post creative content and materials that are in line with our brand mission/values but are relevant and innovative for the industry.

The Fall internship program will run from September 14, 2022 until December 7, 2022. This is a paid, part-time internship with an hourly rate and an anticipated time commitment of approximately 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday). Interns who are based in the NY metro area will have the opportunity to work out of the NYC Headquarters (hybrid role).

During the internship program, participants will be paired with a supervisor who will provide them with on-the-job training and projects. The program also incorporates additional learning components focused on professional development, exposure to various functional business areas, and the opportunity to interact with senior executives. Participants will also work on a function specific project designed to address a current company initiative and/or business gap.

Overall, the program includes on-the-job training, shadow sessions with our leaders, a mentorship program, functional focused intern project(s), and other interesting components.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in development of content-driven social media and writing to help grow our audience, drive revenue and multiply footprint
  • Create and execute bi-weekly content calendars for Instagram and Facebook, including designed images, videos, photos, user-generated content
  • Respond to social media comments and questions
  • Research regularly to identify emerging trends + topics of interest within the realms of beauty, health, and wellness
  • Ongoing competitive analyses of like brands, including their social content and digital initiatives
  • Assist The Klog staff in generating story ideas and pitches
  • Manage and help update coverage calendars
  • Daily work in the office consists of editorial support (research, writing, editing, fact-checking, proofreading, transcribing)


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recent college graduate or a rising college senior
  • Previous experience with the beauty industry
  • Strong proficiency and understanding of social media and passion for beauty, trends and storytelling
  • Must demonstrate flawless attention to details, be a team player, multi-tasker and creative thinker
  • Thrives in a highly entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment with an all-hands-on-deck and positive attitude
  • A natural relationship builder with the ability to work well with a network of peers, partners and industry contacts
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Strong writing skills, creative, organized
  • Strong technical skills including: MS Office, PowerPoint and social platforms
  • Knowledge of social media analytics tools like Google Analytics/Adwords; Facebook Page Insights is a plus
  • A highly motivated, energetic self-starter who works collaboratively across cross-functional teams
